These videos, which include several alumnae from the Class of 1965, are part of a series of clips providing an oral history about the Old/Original L. C. Anderson High School of Austin, TX (1909-1971).

The school was originally named E. H. Anderson and later re-named L. C. Anderson. Ex-students and faculty of L. C. Anderson were interviewed. Anderson High was Austin's all-black high school for many years.

Elementary, Middle (Jr High) and High schools throughout the South were racially-segregated for many years following the end of slavery in the United States. In Austin, TX many of the students who attended L. C. Anderson also attended Blackshear, L. L. Campbell, Rosewood, Oak Springs Elementary and Kealing Jr High schools.

If you're an ex-student, ex-faculty member, administrator or support staff of the Old Anderson High of East Austin - your input is needed. Old yearbooks, news articles, uniforms, video or film footage and other memorabilia is desperately needed.
